are you sure they are not pods?Does anyone know the dosage equation for intake treatment with interceptor? Got little white bugs on LPS. Have dipped multiple times in Bayer but the keep coming back
That's my first thought as well. Only white bugs I have seen have been pods...are you sure they are not pods?
Whatever they are they are irritating the heck out of my LPS. I've heard of white bugs on euphelia before. Not really a pod population in the tank so I'm inclined to think their bad guysare you sure they are not pods?
They're completely White very similar too pods. Only crawl around on one particular piece of octo spawn. Did a Bayer dip on it last night and has fluffed back up today. I don't see them on the glass or anything that would suggest their copepodsThey can be parasitic pods. I had something similar on my frogspawn. Are they like white/brown copepods looking bugs crawling around?
I took a few samples and put it under the microscope. See one of my post before: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/i...scopic-pictures-included-good-or-bad.1081457/
Mine seemed to have died off overtime. I did dip my frogspawn in KCl (potassium chloride) or polyp lab primer dip. Not sure whether that's why they died off, but worth a try.
It sounds like you have what I had. It's probably parasitic pods. I heard Bayer (the old formula which I think only sell in NH now) and KCl dip may help. I would hold off on interceptor unless you absolutely need to since that'll destroy all the inverts you have. If octo is opening up fine and only minor irritation, maybe just dip it once a while. I don't think these parasitic pods can cause major damage that lead to fatalities, but may stunt growth, since they do need to rely on the host to the alive. I think overtime they may die off if you dip it once a while. Bayer and KCl are pretty aggressive, give the octo sometime to recover before dipping again? They're completely White very similar too pods. Only crawl around on one particular piece of octo spawn. My wrasse hasn't noticed them. Great advice. Thank youAlso any luck with wrasse picking on it? My mandarin seems to have pick on the big one before I move it to another tank, but the smaller ones are too small for it to see.
