Anyone have any expereice with this fish? I got one about 6 months ago and it was always lively and swimming with all the tank mates. A few months back my yellow tang killed my copperband and from that day on it only lives in the crevaces of my rockwork.I joke around with my kids that it dont wanna get murdered but i think that has become the case..lol. I have a big cave in my tank and it sits upside down in there all day. Never comes out to swim...ever. I know they like lower light and caves but i never see this fish anymore unless i squeeze behind and look in the cave. It is alive and well still just wish i could see it more often. Just looking for anyone elses experience with this species.

Hmm. I know gardiner has one and I have seen his and others at House of Fins in CT and they are very active swimmers and out and about pretty much all the time, perching beneath ledges from time to time. How large is it? Maybe he just needs to lay low for a bit.

is it possibly to remove the yellow tang for few days, then re-introduce it later?

how big is it? We have had one for almost 2 years. It's a decent size, nice and beefy. And can even be a bit of a bully. Lives with a few tangs. Out all of the time. Definitely sounds like yours is getting harassed.
