There is no metal components under water for Jebao return pumps. As long as you don’t buy a grey market Jebao that without a warranty, you should be ok. Many people buy Jebao on eBay to save a few $ and those are not build the same. Also there are fake Jebao pumps out there.

Jebao are great return pumps, the wave makers are rubbish though. I think of my failed ones the controller/power supply was more likely the problem. Never had a jebao burn up pump side.

I've had them in the past and never had a problem. Just do some regular maintenance once or twice a year and clean it out.

If you want APEX compatibility, get a Coralbox return pump. I am a dealer for coralbox pump. They are as reliable as Jebao, with safety float switch and APEX port.
