Jellyfish tank

clamm

Nothing to nobody
Anyone have one. Know anything about them, whats required? How hard they are to maintain. Im really intested in one but don't know much about them.

ive read a little about them. very low flow, protected powerheads, overflows, etc.. and i cant remember anything else. cheers. ;)

Casey,

I was just at the NEAq last week with a friend of mine that is a diver there and he was giving me the entire tour of behind-the-scenes and we came across their jelly tanks. He even stated (if I remember correctly) that he had built these tanks in the past. They are contructed out of acrylic and they can't have any surface that would snag a jelly. I have attached a quick drawing of what I remember. I hope that this helps.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Take care.

Jamison

Yup...they need a circular tank. Also jellies have a very short lifespan in captivity...If you keep them a month your doing good. Most of the jellie tanks in aquarium's and stuff have to relpenish them monthly to keep populations up for public viewing.

Jellies require a kreisel tank to keep them from touching the glass, otherwise they get stuck to the glass. That is about all I know.
