i have never had a problem w aptaisa in the one year my tank has been set up. well, i currently am fighting w a phos problem so i added some cheeto to my tank , and today i found 3 or 4 little ataisa in the cheeto if i use joes juice to kill them will it kill the cheeto also.

In my little experience with them a peppermint shrimp is much more effective then joes juice.

the joe's is concentrated alk, so expect some chaeto dieoff where the juice sits.

ive used both joes juice and the pepermints go pepermints much much better may take a lil while but i have 0 aptasia in my tank.

thanks everyone i think i will go the peppermint route i hate throwing unnessesary chemicals in my tank!

depending on the size of the Aptasia, you may want 2 or 3 pepps sometimes they won't touch them one on one IME

Personally I would take the chemical route.
Chemicals have solved many problems,ask the Public School system.lol

Joe's is very quick and easy for big aptaisa. Peppermints are great for follow-up control and smaller ones.

You can't just pull the cheato out and get rid of the aptasia?

guaranteed it's spread from the chaeto....the little buggers spread fast.....
