Puff Daddy
Non-member
Hey BRS,
I am a new member from Cambridge. I started coming to meetings in February and recently became on official member at the auction. I have started up a small reef in a 29 Gallon tank with a 15 gallon sump. I primarily focus on SPS but have added some softies and LPS to the mix.
I started a freshwater aquarium about 6 years ago with a long eared sunfish I caught while fishing. I had him for two years and then released him back into the stream when I had to move. A few years later I started keeping Glofish, primarily because of the novelty of having a genetically engineered pet. Eventually I decided to start a green spotted puffer tank. Green spotted puffers have big eyes and a huge personality that I couldn't resist. I learned that they needed brackish water so I bought some salt and a refractometer and transitioned her to brackish water, and eventually to full salt. After about 4 months, my puffer jumped out of the tank and died. At that point I had a saltwater tank, and a couple of clowns. So I decided to take the leap and start a reef.
My name is "Puff Daddy" in honor of the little puffer fish named GLaDOS, who helped me get over the mental block of going from fresh to salt water.
If you want to see videos of my tank. Search for Puff Daddy Reef on Youtube. I post semi-regularly. Here is my latest update: http://youtu.be/fdJl62hfM8w
Happy Reefing!
