Very nice design is that for a 72, or 92 bow?

That's GOT to be a 155 at least. :)

Either that or the best damn lit 72 bow ever! :D Do I count SIX MH moguls, and Four T5?

I believe it is a 155 Bow. Nice job on the hood! Dayum, that's gonna be one very bright tank!

Brian did you Fab that beauty? It's an excellent hood!

That is a custom built & designed hood by me!!! :D I can't seem to find all the pics right now of the process but I have them somewhere. All alluminum construction with 6 metal halides & 4 VHO. 1865 watts not including the Led high intesity moonlights. It is on a 155 bowfront.

Really nice work, Aquaman. (I love the sound of that sentence)

Now this may seem like a silly question, but aluminum conducts heat very well. Does the whole hood get hot?

I got 11w per gallon on my 55. Lol it killed some of my sofites. Very nice looking hood. I like the light weight construction.

Doesn't aluminium also corrode quite quickly when exposed to salt water?

I know alloy wheels do real bad aruund here

Four Ice cap temperature sensitive three speed fans running. (they have sensors that are heat sensitive which change the speed of the fans) Two sucking on one end & two blowing on the other. It doesn't get hot because it circulates the air throughout. It does heat the water up a bit though.(bulbs are about 10 inches from the water surface) Chiller works when all lights are on even in the winter.

As far as the aluminum being corrosive.....I etched the whole frame & body with zinc oxide primer which is equivalent to using a heavy duty rust preventative primer for regular metal. (It is a marine paint used for aluminum.) I then topcoated it with a heavy duty gloss finish & then I put a finish of multispec over that on the outside. (100.00 a gal)

Isn't that a bit much for lighting, 12wpg??

There is a such thing as too much light ya know ;-)

Yeah too much flow is not good either for some corals. My lighting sequence simulates what it is like in nature. All lights are on for the same amount of time there is peak sunlight.

Brian, thanks for posting the pics. It certainly gives me a few ideas. Love the piano hinged split. That will be incorporated! Any more pics will be appreciated!
