Well I came in from working on the car today and noticed the tank looked a little stagnant.

It looks like my Koralia 6 stopped working. I unplugged it and plugged it back in. The head started to turned and stopped. I tried that a few more times and same exact thing.

So I took the pump out and rinsed it down and plugged it in again... Same thing.

Funny thing is the pump is about three years old, but only has about 200hrs of use on it.

The impeller looks fine and turns... I did notice that the impeller turns about 180 degrees and stops, but not sure if that is related to the magnet as it has been some time since I have taken it apart and played with it.

Anyone have any ideas or is this Koralia 6 toast?

Any suggestions on a replacement? I am using the Koralia 6 in a 55g and like the way it stirs the tank up. Would like to keep the cost below $100 for something new. I like the maxspect gyre, but it is too much $$$ to put into this tank. It would be nice to have something that pulsed on its own.

Hey Chris, I've been running a few WP series jeabos (a 40, 2x20's and 2x 10's) all for about a year trouble and maintenance free. For the $$ they are good little pumps. And the RW's are supposed to be better.

Yeah I just switched from a wp40 to a Rw15 and love it so far. This pump is powerful! I'm really glad I had a variable output power supply from my wp pump.
I'd say you should get the Rw8 if you get the variable power supply. If not get the Rw4 these pumps are powerful.

Was also going to also suggest a jebao for that price range. Will be more powerful than the koralia as well as controllable.

Agreed on the RW's.
I started with 2-RW4's on a 55g, impressive but was maxed out for decent flow.
Then swapped them out for 2-RW8's and wow, ridiculous flow. Have them turned all the way and is perfect.

I found that Hydor/koralia products are very crappy, from their pumps to heaters.
Despite they are Italian made, they made poorly.

Yeah, little more involved than rolling out meatballs.

Beside being shoddy, I have a few that give off stray voltage.
