Koralia Nano

I have a Koralia Nano that I just bought a few weeks ago that I'm having trouble with. It's only been used a couple of times to circulate water that's being heating for a water change. When I plugged it in today it wouldn't start. I opened it up and reseated the impeller and tried it again with no success. It doesn't make any noise when I plug it in or anything either. It was fine as of Monday but hasn't been used since. Anyone have any experience troubleshooting one of these or know of any tricks to get it started? Thanks!

did you clean the magnet??? did you try facing it towards the top of the water or did you just not hear it running because the koralia's are quiet...

Thanks for the input bpfan! I didn't clean the magnet 'cause it looked clean - it's only been used to circulate clean water a couple of times. But I'll definitely try it. I know the Koralias are quiet because last time I actually thought it wasn't working because it was so quiet. But this time I tried it facing in every direction and actually saw the propeller wasn't moving. Any other suggestions?

my Koralia nano dosnt like to start sometimes. give it a few whacks with my finger and it usually starts up

disassembe the whole thing and then reassemble it and clean it all... maybe that would help...

Sounds like the motor fried. From what I've heard, Hydor has excellent customer service. They usually will help ya out if you call them.

I have to manually spin the impeller after cleaning to get mine to restart. This happens about 50% of the time.

I had the same problem with two # 1's. Be careful when you disassemble them because there are tiny washers that hold the impeller in place that are easily lost if you don't see them.

If they still give you trouble, e-mail them. I returned mine and they sent me out two brand new ones.

Helping it start with a pencil works sometimes, but if those washers are gone, good luck.

like salnut said, I also have to manualy start the repeller (with like something stick like, not a finger). I plug my on in the water and it doesn't do anything, then I just take a tongue depresser, for instance, and just kick start the propeller and that always works. I'd say if I unplug my koralia, it will always do this. good luck

Thanks for the tips everyone! I was able to get it started by using my tweezers to get the propeller spinning. But I'll definitely keep in mind that Hydor has good customer service if I need to contact them in the future. Thanks!
