Koralia Powerhead noise??

Jokes

So I finally figured out how to use the wavemaker on my RKL. It works fine, the problem is that my koralia powerheads make this rather loud clicking noise when turning on. I have them set at 20 second intervals and it's kind of annoying. Is there a way to silence the powerhead from making that clicking noise when it turns on? Is there a powerhead that is more quiet?

Koralia powerheads, unless they are the DC version, is NOT designed to work with wave maker.
First of all, the clicking noise, then the rubber stopper will break, and the propeller spin backward.
I have many half broken koralia in a large box. IMO, Koralia is some of the worst flow pump on the market.

Fantastic. Hmm. Any suggestions on powerheads to be used for the wave maker?

This is true, don't turn them on and off too often. I've actually had quite good luck with them if this is kept in mind. For the price they move a LOT of water. I've had the top of the line (Tunze), and while Tunze will last a little longer, overall I've found it much cheaper to just replace the Korallia once every few years and NOT cycle them on and off more than 5-6 times per day.

I'm specifically talking about the fixed speed version of this powerhead. I have no experience with the variable speed ones. Simple is best I've usually found.
