LifeReef sump and Skimmer

Has anyone got any experience with a LifeReef CLF2 sump or their SVS2 skimmer? I came into possession of one and it sure is built nice. What seems odd is there really isn't any provision for a sock or rollermat. It has a build date of 2018 so while it's a little older it doesn't predate roller filters..... does it?

The skimmer is a venturi design with a Varios 6 and is huge in the amount of space it occupies. There are 2 more Varios pumps in the next chamber for the separate fuge and reactors and of course the return. I started thinking the pumps could go external freeing up room for a roller but wondering if I'm overlooking why it doesn't incorporate particulate filtration in the first place. There is a foam pad filter in the sump chamber but not all flow goes through it.

Anybody mess with one of these here?

I don’t have either but I have his overflow boxes and they are fantastic great build quality. He is very responsive through email and his website might be of help as well.

I have seen them and feel there very very old tech. Yes built nice and in the USA but that skimmer is 70w and yes controllable but even website says can proform better with more water flow. My skimmer on my 1000gallon system is only 95w. They remind me aqua c or precision marine.
