Lighting for frag grow out tank

Hi,
Just wondering about what kind of lighting I will need for my frag grow out tank. I am planning a 30'' x 12 '' x 12'' with a mix of LPs, and SPS. Will a 70watt MH be sufficient, or what?

depends on what growth rate you are looking for.
I had a 175 over mine but corals darkened due to lower light than my display and growth was slower,i just upgraded to a 400 watt,but a 14 k bulb that has an identical spectum to a 400watt radium so it will not be too intense in a shallow tank.You can still grow out lps by keeping them under your sps shelves.

for sps corals most people use 250 even over a 12 inch deep tank.
I would go with a 30g breeder tank more room 12 wide is to small.
aga 30 breeder size is 36 3/16 L 18 1/4 W 16 3/4 H
reg aga 30 gallon size is 36 1/4 L 12 5/8 W 16 3/4 H

My main tank is growing out under 6 Tek T5's. I don't need tremendous growth....Just want to make sure the frags are stable before I trade them or whatever...So I was think from 150-175 MH....But I dunno much

30 breeder is 12 inches high, the one you have listed above is the 40 breeder.

I'd match the lighting in your display tank. reduces the coral color shift ...

I guess I have to save my money then....Prolly be awhile before I can get a frag tank....Since a tek t5 system is not cheap...
