Liquid Reactor?

I was in a small fish store picking up emergency calcium and picked up a bottle of liquid reactor (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=7362) and was reading the back. I ended up getting just calcium because I knew it was waaaaaaaaaaay overpriced.

So has anyone ever used it? It says it doses calc/alk/mag/stronium... I don't think I'll get it but might in the future if it's decent... Thanks for the input...

Seems sketchy to me.

If we could effectively dissolve high, balanced concentrations of Ca, mg, and alk in one bottle then why on earth is everyone dosing 2 part solutions, dripping kalk, and running Ca reactors ;)

FWIW, *I may be WAY off on the specific product I'm talking about* but I've seen a certain real chemist debate the accuracy/reality of this product at length with nothing even resembling a real answer except that it's not possible. Again, I may be recalling a discussion about a different product from the same mfg, or a similar product or something..... but the point is, there are some really questionable additives on the market, for way too much $. My instinct is that this is one of them.

Just my $.02
jk

I was a little skeptical as well seeing how it doesn't seem to be a common item for dosing tanks... Just wanted to see if anyone has used it...

+1

It's pretty much impossible to combine those chemicials components and have them "work" as indicated.
