live rock and getting out of big tank for a while.

hey everyone i felt someone may have some good advice on this, I am going to be getting out of my bigger tank for a while (at least a year) and want to clean and dry my live rock in order to use it in the future. my rock has a lot of pest now so figure a good time to get rid of all of that and be able to use it fresh when I re start. what is the process, I know it would be good to clean it first than dry it so its ready to go when I want to re start in the future. Any help would be great. upsetting to have to shut it down completely but gives me a good opportunity to clean my display and get everything clean of all the bad stuff.

thanks mason

I think cleaning as best you can and letting it dry in the sun for a few days should do the trick. Don't quote me though. Keep in mind that you will need to cure the rock before reusing it.

AS already mentioned just sticking in the air/sun. Or placing it in a large container with fresh water and lots of flow, will probally be a better method.

A bucket and some bleach. Don't scrub it, don't clean it. Pour bleach in a bucket and throw the rocks in there. Leave it outside for 2 days and the rocks will be WHITE. Coraline, pests, algae...it will all die and disappear.

Thanks guys
