live rock or dry rock in a sump?

I want to start removing my bio balls from my sump. Should I add live rock or dry rock? How much should be changed at a time?

I dont see why you cant add dry rock just make sure it doesn't need to be cycled or cycle it while you remove the bioballs. I think you need to remove the bioballs slowly, maybe over a couple of weeks but I am not 100% sure.

Are you using anything but the bio balls for biological filtration? If not, I suggest you get some established live rock in there and remove the bio balls over a period of time. You can also add some cured dry rock as well so that you can begin the LR process.
