longnose hawkfish

Thinking about getting a small longnose. I've been doing some reading on RC and here, and have heard that for the most part, if you have shrimp, as long as they're bigger than the hawk and were in the tank first (and you keep the tank well fed), you should be all set.

I have also heard however, that one person added a longnose and it killed his small goby!!!

This would be the last fish I'd add, and I've got some BIG cleaner shrimp, and a small yellow watchman. Think I'll be okay???

I really want one too, but it is a risk. During the molt is when even the largest of shrimp will be vulnerable, don't forget that Hawk will get bigger and his appetite will grow with him. I love them, am dying to just go get one, but I won't, three blood shrimp, two cleaners, and a CB, wont let me.

I know what you're saying. I've only got 2 skunk cleaners, but they're really cool shrimp! I suppose that if I do bite the bullet and get one, I can just move the cleaners to my other tank if it looks risky. Maybe I'll wait to see what others with these fish have to say.

Just get one of these. I LOVE this little guy!

I have one of these and he took out both the peppermints and my blood shrimp. He's 3-0. He will soon will be out - if I can catch him with my fish trap.

My shrimp are bigger than the fish, and he's never bothered them. As a matter of fact, when the shrimp go near him, he takes off.
