Looking for a small external skimmer

After having a bad evening with a Terminator II skimmer... (thank goodness for the no-hassle return policy with Dr FS), I now realize why this thing was on sale and so cheap.

Now I'm looking for a small external skimmer for a 29g hex tank with a 10g fuge. I origionally was going to use this skimmer, and had drilled a 1/2" hole and 3/4" in holes into the glass of the fuge. The fuge is small so not a lot of room for something inside, and the hex is drilled so no place behind it for a HOB. I was hoping to avoid a HOB skimmer in the fuge as well. The drain line is 1" from the main tank, and a 3/4" return thru a Little Giant ext pump.

Sorry if this is rambling, but very irritated after my skimmer experience this evening.

Thank you and any advice is appreciated,

-Mike

Try and find an Aqua C Urchin...I think it may fit and works amazing..

I seen a skimmer (air) at Belmont Pets in Easton for 40 dollars...I forget the name of it though.

it was rated for up to 30 gallon aquariums.

id say the skimmers is pretty small too, 6 X 3 in. maybe a little bit taller.

I may be able to squeeze and urchin in the first compartment, not a bad idea. I dug up an old CPR clone HOB skimmer for now, but really want to have something so I can keep the top closed on the fuge to keep the evaporation low and the cat out who likes water ;)

Any opinions on the ES100 by Precision Marine? I think I can plumb that in using my existing unused 3/4" drilled line, and then drill a hole in the top of the sump cover for the 1" return.

Thanks,

-Mike
