Looking for white worm culture

I was wondering if anyone near to southern NH has a white worm culture going? I lost mine a couple years ago and I want to get it going again.

They aren’t too hard. I’ve had the same culture on the basement floor for about a year now. The fish are wild for them. Temperature is key, mid 50’s to low 60’s seems to have the fastest growth. That and a couple slices of bread and you should be good.

@Kens Bees are these easy to culture?

What @Kens Bees said. I have kept them for a while and they are surprisingly resilient. I might need to see if I can convince him to give me some as well as I am guessing my cultures are dead since I haven't fed or done anything with them since I hurt my leg back in early June.

That being said, I might go check them and see if they're still alive as they are resilient little things... I bought a used 4-6 wine bottle fridge that keeps them dark and at 55 degrees...

@Patrick.S and @Cpage101 I just went downstairs to check on my cultures and 3 of the 4 cultures still have white worms that are still alive and I haven't fed them in almost 4 months...

what do you feed, how often and what is your soil mix

I typically feed every 1-2 weeks and use wheat bread with plain yogurt and sprinkle dry flaked yeast on the yogurt and place it yogurt/yeast side down with a piece of glass on top of the dry side of the bread.

Soil it just organic planting soil that I microwave to sterilize. I spray it with RODI to make it almost mud. I usually split culture when the WWs start crawling up the sides that indicates the culture needs to be split.

I too would love a starter culture if anyone could spare some at FragsGiving.

Do you think a small (approx. 1.5 inches in length) mandarin dragonet would be able to eat these?

(If they'll help keep her blimp-shaped and happy, I should be able to get over the "ick" factor...)

Yes. My mandarins love WWs. An old mandarin ate so many once they were sticking out of their mouth!!!
