Low dkh reef salt

Hi all, is anyone using aqua forest regular sea salts or the red sea blue bucket? I have been using TM pro reef for the past year and a half. Now I wanted to switch to a cheaper alternative that's also around 8dkh. It seems like AF and RS are the two that are similar alkalinity. Just want to ask what your experiences are like with those two?

I mostly do LPS and my tank has low nitrate, so lower dkh seem to work better for me.

I like RS blue. Been using it since TM had the issue and haven’t had any issues. I also keep my dkh at 8 and it mixes a wee bit lower but I’m fine with that.

Ditto on the Red Sea Blue Bucket. I have three 200 gallon sacks in my cart now lol

Quick question. If I’m going mixed reef mostly lps and some sps, still go with blue bucket or go with purple bucket? Thanks

I wonder if any of our @Sponsor could arrange group buy pricing I could use another (2) 200G sacks myself.

How much do you pay for TM pro reef salt? I get from PEtco and its usually about 100 pick up in store.

Yeah 100 sounds right when it goes on sales. I think RS or AF can go around 60-70ish when it's on sales?

RSBB is $85 usually, sacks/bags are cheaper. Curious to see what a pallet costs.

I’d be in for at least two pending price maybe more. I have my wife’s 125 seahorse tank and my 180 mixed reef joining the party soon hopefully.

I have been using aquaforest, but also use Instant Ocean (normal, not reef crystals).

Man I wish more companies would do what IO does and separate stuff into 50g bags of salt (roughly).

Just wrestling around a big-ol sack of AF salt and measuring it out is a pain in the butt and the dust goes everywhere.

Anyhow, I use AF because I got a bunch on sale, but like I said, when it runs out I am switching to IO since I can just dump two sacks into my 100g tub to mix and walk away.

8DKH for the win!
