low ph????? somebody help!

i still have low ph havent been able to bring it up
its not exess c02 because it was 8.3 before for a year or more
all other parameters are good
the only change i made was , i added about 30 more lbs dry rock to sump?
and a calcium reactor, but the ph went down before the reactor
right now its 7.9 at night and 8.0 day and im seeing a change in growth rate

when was the last time you cleaned the PH probe?
Sometimes some vinegar and a tooth brush will fix a perceived PH issue

clean them every month i have 2 their both calibrated
also test ph manually for accuracy every now and then
could the rock be buffering the ph not allowing it to rise??

Hmm when did you add the rock to the sump?

What is your alkalinity measurement?
How about the magnesium measurement?

because i do frequent water changes

who knows what was on the rock not that it matters now. have you tried a large water change? it may be possible that you have a buildup of waste somewhere in the tank possibly in the new rock.
have you tested nitrates ammonia and nitrites?

well your definately have a little ammonia so i would say your tanks in a
mini-cycle. i would say get your protien skimmer cranked up to par and make sure you keep the tank well airated should help till you cycle is over

well i figured out my problem it was my reactor , the circulation pump was restricted in short causing the fluid leaving to have super low ph duh ,the rock i added was a few weeks before the reactor came in to play ,that must have been cycling causing the low ph before?, well any way my ph has slowly been rising for the last couple hours its at 8.19 right now hopefully now i can tune it in with no problems now?
