Lowering Alk

How can I lower my dkh without affecting the ph?
Kh / Alk: 12.2 / 4.34
Mg: 1500
Ca: 420
Nitrate: 0
Nitrite: 0
Ph: 8.2

Currently dripping kalk for top off. Have calcium reactor but have not gotten it online as of yet. :o

i would just let it drop slowly by not adding anything to the tank. keep an eye on it and then when it reaches your mark start dosing again.

Kalk is supplementing Alk, so slow your drip, and get another Ca raising method.

12.2 isn't THAT high.

Without supplement, alk will drop on it's own naturally.

A water change with lower alk WC water will dilute your current alk.....

if you want to raise alk and pH at the same time, baked baking soda is the ticket, according to Randy's 2-part recipe.....

Going to start a 25% water change. Will be a slow 30 gallon change over the next 24 hours with the Litermeter III

12.2 is fine IMO. If all other params are in check I wouldn't sweat it.
