Macro Algae Tank

I am looking to add some macro algae to our low-flow ricordea nano tank for nutrient export.

What are some species to avoid? I do not want anything that will take over the tank, as this is a display tank with corals.

Thanks

There are several types that would be ideal for this type of setup.. I would recommend

- Red Bush / Titan
- Dragons Breath (Halymenia)
- Red Portieria
- Red Grape

The above varieties have good color and do not attach/encrust on your liverock so they would be extremely easy to cut back as they grow.

Some other good display varieties would be
- Blue Scroll
- Blue Hypnea

But these do grow along your liverock.. Still easy to manage though..

If you are looking for any of these varieties or others let me know, all I personally keep is macro algaes and I have all of these plus many others available for sale if you would like.

I'd avoid anything with runners, like grape caulerpa for example, since they are pretty invasive and are a PITA to remove if you want to.
