Mag and Dow flake??

Iv' e been to nearly every HD and Lowes in my area (Woburn). Can anyone give me an idea of where I can find Mag & Dow flake?

So far the sitings have been the same old packaging, it just has a new code.

It might make some sense for the member to get together and do a GB of calcium and mag supplement if they want to buy from a safe source.

We did a group buy of chemical grade Mag a few years back. The Mag flake bought at HD had less than desirable test results.

As i recall i think Greg Hiller or PHREEF tested it and found it high in ammonia.That was a couple of years back though so i may be off with my facts.

I thought that Dow had changed the formula and it was not desirable anymore. I just ran out of my bag from 2 years ago so I just purchased some from Bulk Reef.

thats my understanding for the dow flake i think it was high in bromide.
We are not sure on the mag flake though,it may be ok to use.
I have been searching some old threads and can't find the high ammonia testing.
I found a thread where greg H tested it and it was ok.

Thanks Liam, I thought I remembered something about something... LOL. I am amazed how much more mag. supplement I have to use to match the stuff I made myself. I hope that stuff I get from Bulk Reef is stronger!

That was the case. We were actually going to buy the Mag flake at the local stores until Greg tested it. It was not an issue with the dead sea mag chloride

I am sure she did, but if you have the choice of good, better or best what do you take? For me it is best, especially when it cost the same.
