Magflake / Magnesium mix: is it supposed to be thick milky white?

I just made some homemade part #3 and for whatever reason it looks nothing like the last batch I made a year ago. It came out very milky white.

I used 5 cups magflake and 3 cups epsom salt into one gallon of water.

I don't htink I used epsom salts last time, and it was not this consistency or color. Did I goof?

yes, it is supposed to be milky white
... and if you let it settle then there is undissolved stuff in the bottom. You shake it up, and then dose.

The MAG flake typically contains enough calcium as an impurity that when mixed with Epsom Salt (magnesium sulfate), you get some precipitation of calcium sulfate. It is fine to dose it, or not, as seems easiest.
