Mangrove in Aquarium.

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone plant Mangrove in their sump to filter water. Do they do a good job at it?
Are they as good as Cheatos?
What kind are you using and where do you buy it?

i have 5 or 6 of them in my fuge. they grow very slow. not sure of how good they filter the water but i just like them. they suck up mag too. got mine from John at Sea Creature Aquarium in N. Providence RI

I have seen these at Petco, in their fuge.
Never knew why, now I know
it was just tossed in not planted in anything
I have never seen these for sale anywhere either

http://reefcleaners.org/ has them, you can even get some that are already sprouting from them

They are cool and interesting, but do very little for nutrient removal. They do suck up Mg, but that's about it.

Good for the novelty, nearly useless for nutrient uptake.
