"In April 2002, Jeremy and the staff at Coral Reef Aquarium down in Seekonk, MA volunteered to host a meeting featuring Brad Shaw of Aqua-Medic. Brad gave us a run down of lighting, and Coral Reef Aquarium offered us discounts on livestock. In addition, we had a cookout on the premises. A good time was had by all." -Moe Kirby
Well, we're back! We decided it was high time we paid another visit to the Boston Reefers Society's very first sponsor, so Jeremy was contacted, and has agreed to have us back once again! Here is what you can expect this time around...
Where? Weren't you listening? It's at CRA!, which is here.
When? Sunday, May 16th, 12 -4 (or until Jeremy throws us out
)
Food? This there will be in plenty! We'll have a grill or two there to fire off some of the old standbys like burgers and dogs, and we'll also be bringing along a few classic backyard side dishes. Provided I can figure out how to go about transporting ole' smoky, she will be making an appearance, and turning out some beef brisket and pulled pork for your enjoyment. We'll be basing how much food we bring based on anticipated attendance, so if your most likely coming, speak up!
Speaker? There will not be any official "speaker" this month, though if there is interest, we could do an informal workshop and Q&A on tank building. Pipe up if you'd like to see something like this, and I'll bring along my tools and some glass and I can run you through how to make your own tank.
Deals? Jeremy and Ruth are looking for input on what you'd like to see them bring in, GO HERE to check that out and give your input.
Frag Swapping? Jeremy welcomes anyone who wishes to do so to bring along their frags to trade with other Reefers. CRA encourages efforts in conservation, and just as at the previous event all those years ago, swapping and trading is welcomed. However, given that this is a sponsor of our club, and a retail entity, bothe Jeremy and the Boston Reefers Society leadership ask that there be no frag sales or cash transactions amongst members out of respect for our sponsor.
Booze? The will be no alcohol served, and it is asked that folks don't bring any. Given the nature and location of the event, it is probably best not to do so.
I am sure I am forgetting something, or several somethings (it's late, and I am tired
), so check back often for updates!
