Some i'm doing my usually sunday maintenance, cleaning out my filters in the sump, turning the LR, etc etc. I noticed there is a thick skimmate forming at the top of the inlet chamber on the megaflow sump................
Basically it comes out of the tank into a tube that sits in a bubble chamber then rises up to the overflow area..... Its actually a horrible design for a sump, micro bubbles are an issue. It appears however inadvertently they built a preety natural downdraft skimmer....... Would be preety cool to modify it a little and make it effective.
Heres, my model. Btw I contacted all-glass for a replacement as about week 4 the braces running across started to warp and lose its bond. water level is below the minimum and the acrylic is still bowing out, go figure.
