Metal Halide hybrid build

The light build is ready to hang. The t5 reflectors and ballast were from @N_E_M_O. The halide reflectors were from @elaminator and a bunch of parts were stolen/scavenged from old halide setups from @Todd@ChampionLightingSupply. The led strips are Reefbreeders and the halide bulbs and ballasts are from reef brite.

The frame is made from 1/8” hardboard, some 1x2 poplar, and some different size L and U aluminum profiles. All ballasts are remote to keep weight down but it still feels heavy to me. It ended up being 48” by 25”.

2, 250 watt reef brite 20/20k metal halides
2, 54 watt blue plus T5’s
2, 48” reef breeders lumen bars. One HO/UV and the other a blueUV hybrid.

I added the lumen bars because actinic t5 lamps were impossible to find. My hope is they give me a little ramp up and down when the halides and t5’s go off for the day.

I’ll take some tank shots this weekend once I get it hung right.
Let the meter spin!

This is the Ultimate hybrid of Metal Halide, t5 and LED. Oh my!
If you ever upgrade your lighting again in the future, I want this!!!!

It lives!
Pics are: 2, 250 watt 20k Halides AND 2, 54 watt Blue Plus T5’s AND 2, 40 Reefbreeders LumenBar.
Second pic everything but the halides.
Last pic just the Reefbreeders LEDs.

The tank got to 78.5 degrees after 5 hours of all lights being on. The sump is now in a separate room on bare concrete. That should help keep temp manageable in the summer months.
