metal halide question

yea i recently heard that you can adjust the metal halide light with an external ballast and my question is...which ballast? i search everywhere online and im not sure which one it is please help..

o yea i have a 24 inch coralife hqi 150 watts with 2 compact actinic 64watts

There are dimmable ballasts, is that what you are reffering to?

There are a few different brands of dimables out there.

yea just to make it not as bright....dimming it sounds right...which one is a good brand?

well u know when the light start to power up n its kinda purple i wanna get somthing like that

the kelvin range is the color of the bulb not the brightness. what are you using now? 10k is more white. 20k is more blue and 14k is somewhere in the middle

And to add,
Generally as you go up in K temp, you go down in actual intensity. 10K lamps are far brighter than 20K lamps.
