Multiple tank setup using a 30 gallon refugium...

Good Morning Fellow Reefers,
I was wondering if I could use a single 30 gallon refugium on 2 or 3 tanks? One is a 55 gallon bowfront and the other two are 40 gallons... Is this too great a volume of water for the refugium to handle???

Not as long as you have enough room for when the power goes out and everything drains back to the sump/fuge area

A 30 gallon refugium in a 140 gallon sysem should be ok.

My custom overflows allow only an 1.5 inches of drainage on each of the tanks, which essentially leaves me plenty of room to drain...

also remember there will be additional water in the return lines that will drain back into the sump when the power goes out, shouldnt be a problem though
