So, I decided to scrap the 40 gallon frag tank and add rock so I can grow out all my little chalices and have a nice chalice dominated lps tank to enjoy. It is full of babies but will be awesome all grown in.

Now THAT's a business investment. Luckily you'll have to do a lot of fragging in order to keep the corals in there from killing each other :D

Yes and no. I have a 300 gallon out front that I can put them into as they get bigger. I am trying to keep from cutting them for a while thats why I did it like this so its not just racks of frags but an actual display of sorts. I hate that look of just shelves of frags.

I gotcha Nick, I'm in the "take things out because you're running out of space" phase with my tank right now (hitting 1yr4 months) and I'm regretting loading up on the frags earlier.

It must be kind of a trip to plan an aquascape for mostly encrusting - flat growth types. What are some of the specs of the system, i.e lighting and flow?

Always nice to have a 300g to fall back on :)

whats the purple and red chalice in the 8th pic?

Lighting is a current MH fixture with 2 150x Phoenix 14k bulbs and flow is just run off the main pump which is a Reeflow Blackfin that is pushing 2500gph through the whole system front and back and all the reactors etc. I can turn it up or down with a ball valve and I also have 1 maxi jet mod in there too that shuts off at night for them to feed. you should see all the sweepers. I ordered some Reefbright blue LED's for fun but have not got them yet. I tried to keep the rockwork low in the tank since some chalices don't need alot of light.

I can only say, WOW. I love it. I feel like Matt. It must be nice to have the 300gal to fill up.LOL. I made the same mistake as Matt alot of frags, and now My tank looks like a big frag tank, but not nearly as nice as that.

Nice Job Derek
