ok so got the urge to do an overhaul on my tank that needed it very badly..looking to get sand from home depot. (danvers) could someone please tell me what i need to look for when i purchase it.. thanks in advance

Ii dont think home depot sells southdown any longer. not sure on the other playsand...if i remember they were silica based. Some argued that the silica caused diatom problems...not my first hand experience as I never used it. Personally Id go to a LFS and by dry sand. It costs a little more but not too bad around me...about 20$ /50lbs

All the sand at home depot was silica based last I checked (about 2 months ago), so it's not something you want to put in your tank... I would either do what Steve said and go to the LFS for some aragonite sand, or order some from a place like Marco Rocks.
