:( today has been bad for me
i was working on my set up and started by instaling my timer made by CORALIFE as soon i put power into-it it started to smoke badly so i should stoped there but i tough that a lot of people mention that it was a bad timer so i just trew it away with a reminder to really pay attention to what other members sugest.
so i continue to work on my set up the next thing was to clean my pumps
i took my sedra 3500 apart and was soaking in a mix of water and vinigar and i broke the ceramic shaft so now i have to wait until i can purchase a new impeller assembly meanwhile im without the skimmer
does anybody has a extra shaft that i can use i will pay for it

I don't have a replacement shaft, sorry. I have gotten replacements from CRA, I don't know who will be open tomorrow, you may want to call around first. Running the tank without a skimmer for a few days won't hurt anything, I have done it in the past for a couple days and saw no ill affects on an SPS dominated/heavy bio-load tank. Good Luck, hope someone can help you out!

i broke my ceramic shaft on my return in the middel of the shaft and put it back in the pump broken and it worked for a year

Can you check the exact measurements on your broken shaft. I have on in my scrap yard of pump parts that I'm pretty sure came off a sedra 3500. the shaft I have is 11/64" thick, and 3 35/64" long.

If the one I have is the right size, you can have it for free.

Shoot me a PM if it looks like it's the right one.

jk

the ceramic shaft that I'm looking for is approx 3/16 x 3 7/8 long for a sedra 3500 pump
if anybody have one let me know
thanks

I have a shaft dor a 5000 if it will work but im probaly to far away to make it worth while for you. If you have a local hobby shop they will have carbon shafts that you could cut down. good luck
