Need to pick the brains for ATO help

Ok so here is my issue. I am running a 45 gallon non rr cube. After finding my desire to get back into it I have the tank looking great again and everything is happy. Problem I have is I use the tunze nano ATO. Works great. Perfect for my size tank. However due to the trim around the tank and the fact that the float is held by magnets I have to have it under the trim. Still works fine but have to keep my water about three inches or so from the top. I would like it to be about 2 inches higher. Here is a pick. Any ideas on how I could get this? Would need to hang the float on something I'm guessing. Any help I appreciate. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1376099333.951093.jpg

Would like the float up in the black area. Thinking this would give me 2-3 more gallons of water

Stick it on with silicone and ditch the magnet?

Make a plexi hanger to go over the side of the tank and stick a magnet to each side? Both magnets would be inside the tank

Maybe you could attach something thin enough to work with magnet on the trim so u have a flush area to work with

It looks like the float assembly can be removed from the bracket. If so, you could make an acrylic holder to sit at any height and mount the float switch in that.

If that doesn't work, you could probably get a generic float switch, mount it as desired, and then splice that in place of the tunze float. http://www.autotopoff.com/Floatswitches/

Yes I can unscrew the float assembly and take it off. Was going to try to bend some acrylic just never did it before so wasn't really sure how difficult it would be

Thanks Jon for the link. Looks like I could order and over the tank bracket with an up float mount bracket and that might work for me.

I order two brackets from autotopoff.com and will see how it works and post here incase someone has the same issue. I love the ATO so wanna keep it.
