This looks like a cool unit. If you go to the "Order" page it show's probes which lead me to believe it may be a light and controller all in one. No prices yet though.

Are these lights in lieu of MH, or are they supplementation.

They are to replace MH. I wasn't overly impressed with the LED lighting I've seen for reef tanks. But, the fact that this is the second company making them is a good sign. This means there will be more companies making these, they will become better, and the prices should come down. Someone over at Uberfrags said they spoke with the rep for these and that they do in fact have a controller built in (VERY COOL!), but I haven't heard anything on pricing yet.

IMO, LED lighting will eventually play a big role in reef tanks. You guys should see this LED lighting that is going into high end homes. They replace regular in ceiling lights and you can literally change the color of their spectrum just by sliding a slider in a computer program. Think of the dawn and dusk effects you could do with that and the moonlighting effects!
