For a 24" solaris H4, it's ~$1600! I'm looking for some competitor before I take the plunge.

Why would you want to connect you light to the internet?

So that people can hack it?

No different than what an Aquacontroller III + software does. You can restrict access via filtering rules on your networking equipment if you're really worried.. and nobody's going to hack into your PC to control your lights...

Is it so that you can turn the light on and off? I thought that it had the automatic timing thing?

My Guess would be to communicate with the Firmware or active running program. Instead of worrying about a serial of cable to connect to a pc you can set On/Off times. Change Time and season Charts for lighting. The solaris does it through the light itself but it is clunky, No problem once you know it. Other then that I dont see what else can be done via bluetooth other than controlling your light with a cell phone.

You can probably control everything via bluetooth from bluetooth enable computer/laptop.

Plus bluetooth is faster than serial cable and no wire.
