Next Tank Project

I was looking at my tank a few weeks ago, and decided that the rockwerk looks like a bag of hammered dog poo.

I have some very nice pieces of live rock, very well encrusted with coralline, so naturally I would like to keep them. I'm planning on removing the rock, and replacing my current support system of PVC with something a bit more stable.

I have a two questions;

1.) I'm going to be using nylon threaded rods for vertical support, but I would also like to use a bit of glue. I don't want to dry the rock prior to glueing, is their a reef safe glue which works on wet (or slightly damp) objects?

2.) I will still be using PVC to keep the rock off of the sand. Any ideas for plugging the holes in the top (the last time I moved, I found a pile of dead hermits when I pulled one out)?

most of the gel super glue is good loctite is a brand i know works for me ive used it to mount things under water

How about just drilling lots of holes in the PVC so it is all open? I would think that would be better than stagnant areas. Or you could get fancy...

Been thinking the same about my rockwork lately. Everyday I move something trying to fix it only to have it look much better. Then, when the sandstorm I caused finally clears I realize I just wasted hours of my life I will never get back. LOL Just cant win sometimes. Let me know where you found that nylon threaded rod, I have been looking for it locally. I know marcos has it but local is easier.

Nice looking tank and great idea... I think it would get a little tricky if you wanted to do a DSB...

Great idea. I wouldn't want to cover all that hard work :)
