No evaporation?

Hey everyone, so I set up my ATO last week and since then, I have noticed that water in my tank doesn't really seem to be evaporating. I knew before that it was minimal unless i leave the back compartment open. It has a full hood as its the biocube but still would have thought it would be able to escape through the cracks and what not. Other than not having to go get RO/DI water as often, is there anything that could cause issues with not evaporating much water? Thank!

Good air/water exchange helps keep PH up.
Is there a skimmer on this tank?

There is a skimmer. It was running for over a week, but not skimming anything. Probably because there is no livestock in it yet lol. It will get turned back on when I get my first 2 fish hopefully this weekend.

I have 4 all-in-one tanks with closed hoods, and they all have evaporation. I even have a humidifier on my house's heater from before I started reefing. Your house must be naturally humid if you're not losing water. What's it like in the summer? Do you have to run a de-humidifier to prevent mold? Check your tank again and make sure you don't have a filter floss or something that's blocking the flow. Sometimes the front looks full, but the back chambers are low.

No, its not that humid. We do run a dehumidifier in the basement in the summer but the rest of the house has central air. I have filter floss in the second back chamber. Its staying level to where i have the ato set to but havent seen the ato adding any water to the tank.

I have a 14g biocube in the same room as an open top 46 and the biocube needs topping off every week or so. The 46 goes through nearly a gallon a day. The closed top may just not need as much. The stability is a plus IMO.

Thats a good thing to hear. I just remember seeing things about not having the right gas exchange and was hoping there wasn't a bit problem with seeing very little evaporation.

Depending on all other attributes, with a closed sealed lid the evap condenses on the inside of the hood and just goes back into the tank, but you should still have some minimal water loss
