Old fashion letter writing time!

I was just trying to get people to join me in sending a couple letters to the Petco people about the treatment of their livestock. Also seeing if anyone has tryed this. Im sure I don't have to outline my reasons here, anyone that has been in a Petco can see what Im talking about. I have seen many very ill soft corals and anenomes at the Rt.1 location and the cause is obvious. I doubt they sell enough of these to the local fish only guys to make it worth it. Drop one if you can. Thanks Andy.

Its been done MANY times, sorry to say it has not changed a thing.

The best thing you can try to do to help would be to go to the individual store & ask to speak with the aquatic manager, & try to VERY politely educate them on proper care. Dont go in and say "you should not have this or that" they dont control what is ordered, their corporate office does. Just try to inform them how to give the animal the best short term care.

I've herd of a couple of sucess stories on RC with people doing this.

Your wasting your time with Petco. If you want to try and change something for the better write a letter to Oceans of Pets in woonsocket. That place is a graveyard for marine fish, I doubt they even feed their marine livestock as all of their fish are skin and bone with popeye, ich, LLD, most with almost no fins remaining and obviously nobody buys them because they all look deathly ill so they just remain there for a 1-2 months before they croak. I go in about once a week with my own food and feed the fish when they aren't looking just to help them out a bit.

I worked at one many many moons ago, I tried to get them to open their eyes just a bit, but no luck. I went to ditrict managers, and their supervisors, and got no where. They just kept throwing at me, "that is not our corporate policy. Needless to say. I told them where they could stick their corporate policy!

they just don't care about anything except the $

My store managers where brought in from Toys-R-Us. Obviously for their amazing skills with the animals and customers....yeah, NO!

Well thats sad stuff. Anyone know if the BBB would care? One could make the argument that they are guilty of animal abuse. Would anybody care about THAT???
