I have it and as Nate says the first pic is totally faked the second is closer but unless you look at your tank through a magnifiying glass it will never look like that.
Mine is small no frags yet sorry.
I agree with Liam on the magnifying glass thing. I've got a purple monti with green polyps like that, and it looks like crap from about 2 feet away, it doesnt have that bright purple and bright green unless you look real close.
From far away it looks drab green when the polyps are out.
I have a good size chunk of Rainbow monti. I wasn't planning on fragging this coral for a while but would be willing to make one frag about the size of a nickle, because I know what it is like to get obssessed over one specimen.
I originally got this frag from Mufflerguy. I just took a pic with my lights out and using a 50 watt halogen lamp and flash. See first pic. I attached 3 other pics from frags.org which I think very accurately represent the coloration of the frag I have. I'm a terrible photographer so this is a good way to judge what the coral looks like with lights on. With my 175W 10k halides and VHO actinice It's super bright purple with mostly reddish/brown polyps and light green/yellow polyps in the center and on the growth edge.
Anyway, send me a PM if you want to discuss. I think due to the small nature of the frag I'm willing to liberate, a trade would be best. Let me know what you've got.
One more terrible photo of it with the lights on. This picture quality is shameful. Took this a couple months ago. Can't see much but gives an idea of coloration with actinics and 10k halides.
