Opinions on the Blueline HD External Pump?

Does anyone have one? I read they are supposed to be as good as the Iwaki, only cheaper. Its description reads:

"designed and built by a former chief engineer from Iwaki-Japan. They feature the same flow curves, high head pressure, low noise, and reliability that have made Iwaki the best magnetic drive pumps available. The BlueLine HD pumps are even slightly quieter than Iwaki, with a lower frequency."

Thanks,
Paul

Good Quality quiet pump, I've run three of these for over three years with zero issues. My 200ps is running quieter than a Iwaki 70.

Thanks Calciumbuf. I was thinking either the 40 or 55 model. Is it a bad idea to use a 55 with a ball valve on a 58 gallon tank with 37 gallon sump? Head pressure is about 8-9 ft. I'm not sure about adding 15-20 gallons for a fuge yet.

You can use a ball valve to lessen the flow as long as you put a T in the line and release the extra pressure back into the sump so that the pump isn't over working itself.

I use the 40x to run my closed loop and I have a gate valve attached to the output side. No complaints about it. If you are running it under a stand you will definitely hear it. I wouldn't say it is really loud but when I am in the room I can hear it running.

Good precautions.

I'm not worried about the noise. The pump would be in the basement below, so the furnace would drown out the noise. It's an ancient beast.

With two powerheads, a 40 is probably all I'll need if I move up to a 120 in a year or two, right?

Are Pan World and Blueline the same thing? I run a PanWorld 150ps under my stand and is is very quiet. The only noise is from the fan. Has bee a great pump.
