So on Sunday, I am going to go pick up a 72bow and was wondering what you guys think, should I do...

Since I was going to put my current setup in there and integrate it in, should I...
a) get the sump or filter setup, put everything in the current tank in there and then cycle some dead rock, and add it 2 months from now or whenever
or...
b) put the 72g up with sump or filter, let rocks cycle in it, and when cycled, put in my current setup???

Thanks for the input

How much dead rock?
And how much LR do you have now?

i have about 25 pounds right now, would have been adding about 10 more pounds at the end of the month, but i don't know, probably about 50 pounds i would say with the 10 i was talking about depending on how dense the rock is... i want it to be not super full, but not empty... like pvh's

You could always put the established LR in the new tank and then cycle the new rock in the old setup... Only thing is you shouldn't add to the bioload when you put in the old established LR...

what do u mean, do u mean fish??? ur saying that i should put all my fish in and then put in the rocks??? i was thinking of setting up the 72 with a piece of rock and some sand from the established tank to cycle new rock, and when it is ready, moving the rest off...

That works but I'd be too impatient and move everything into the 75 with new sand and the old sand mixed (old sand near top IMO) and put in all the current livestock... You'd pretty much have the same rockwork/setup in your smaller tank just in a bigger tank. Then cycle the new dry rock/live rock in your current setup that will be empty... Just what I'd do...
