overflow baffle

Currently have my frag tank running with no baffle. Just a durso style drain pipe with a bulkhead strainer. Did this to keep it quiet. Since there is no baffle, there is no surface skimming. I would like to add a baffle. I have a bunch of egg crate. Would it work to wrap it in 3 mil plastic and put it in leaving the top un wrapped? Would be an easy cheap (free) fix if it works. Let me know. Thanks.

i would just buy some thick acrylic from home depot or lowes. and cut it to fit to the right size, and cut knoches in it.

I figured as much. Figured its free for what I have and the frag tank isn't on display.
