What type of corals can i keep under 2x96w PC. The tank is a 65g.

some leathers, and some lps. depends on the depth that you place the coral. you def can keep mushrooms, zoas, yellow polyps etc...

add to the list will be all sorts of mushroom except rics.

i wanna keep all softies and lps. I just think that my 480w setup i have now is justway to much. I might go with a 4x96 setup.

I'm using 4x96 right now (on a 72 - so tall) and keeping all types of softies, leathers, shrooms & zoas without a problem. even my caps seem to be growing, but loosing some color. Would like to get the shimmer though.

Robby, I'm curious about your current light setup. You've got 20K MH bulbs with actinic supplementation. Did the setup come that way? I'd think you'd get very little growth without a source of whiter light. Generally the blue is for looks, but the yellow and white are more important for growth. Balance between those is key.

I had a 65g SPS tank, which I ran with three 175 MH. I got good growth from middle to top of the tank.

I wouldn't recommend anyone rethinking their lighting to go with PCs. They're the least efficient reef lighting. If you want to use less electric, and keep softies and LPS, get T5s. Personally I'd stick with what you have. If you change the MH to 10K, then you will have much more light, and could keep SPS if you wanted to.

I have 10k bulbs right now. It just seems way to powerful i dunno.

I think my taste in corals have changed. At first i wanted sps and clams but all of that can be expensive and my halides have brought up the electricity bill. All I have in my tank are softies and lps right now and they seem to not like the power halides.
