Pencil urchin reef safe?

Today I purchased a pencil urchin from an lfs and I was told that it was reef safe. After acclimating it I decided to find some more information on it. I found mixed opinions on pencil urchins being reef safe or not and wondered if anyone had first hand experience or opinions.

will not per se destroy corals but it's a pain in the neck, you better have your rock in ONE piece or cemented somehow or secured, etc; as small as they are they will move and shift things around to get into cracks / crevaces they want to get into, ....

I had mine in my tank less than a month when I decided to move him to the Refugium. Tried pincushion urchins too, they also had to move to the Refugium. They just picked up everything.

Mine decided to frag my hammer coral for me it. Now I got 2 nice hammer corals
