Pinpoint Salinity Monitor

http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/group/11402/product.web

Does anyone use one or have firsthand knowledge of this product? I've got a refractometer, but was wondering if this would be a better option.

Thanks,
Paul

Paul I have one and use it as a point of reference. For example if I bring home a new fish or coral I'll check my SG and compare to that of the bag with a single dip. More convenient than the refrac. I mix waters until they match. I try to keep my tank between 52.0 and 53.0

I like the monitor. Haven't used the refrac since I got it.

I agree that such meters are more convenient than refractometers in certain situations (like acclimating fish), and I use them all of the time. I have a couple of the Pinpoints, and they are a fine way to go for measuring salinity or limewater potency. In fact, such meters are by far the best way to do the latter. :)
