please help!!

I got one as a hitch hiker way back when....

had to find the rock he was in and dismantle the rockwork hoping he wouldn't move to another.......PITA, took me hours

then it was curtains for the little Ba$tard!

good luck

TO be honest, I learned to love my pistol shrimp

After awhile I realized was he wasn't the problem it was my coral banded shrimp.
I mounted his claws on a plaque when I finally removed him to put him in solitude

well he killed my peppermint shrimp and i really do think that he killed my scooter blenny and a bunch of other things i just really want him out but im starting to think its not gonna be possible

You might get him with a trap.

Not sure if the Bottle trap is effective for pistol shrimp? Or if you have to use a trap door style like the ones for Fish.

send me an addy I will see if I can figure a time and day to get there once you catch him

mine went to Xavier's with some LR that he got :(
he was soo cool and finally trained to were he would come out to eat

how big is yours and what colors are he?

IME if I wanted something out of my tank. And I had a nano,I would just dismantle it.Drain the water into a plastic tote, put the rocks, corals and fish in it and seperate the rock with the shrimp. If he's in a hole just blast him with water or cabonated water with a turkey baster....he'll come out of there.
Put him in a glass bowl and I'm sure somebody will take him tomorrow.
I had to do this with 60 lbs of LR to get a blenny that was hold up.

I highly doubt he was the one that killed your scooter and with your size tank there really isnt alot of room for other shrimps to roam at night with out running into his burrow.

BTW an easy way to catch these guys is to use a mantis trap and place it by his main burrow at night with a nice chunk of clam meat to bait him in. You can buy these cheesy plastic traps for around 10-15 dollars. If I was you I would just keep the little bugger, their 10 times cooler then a lousy pepperment shrimp :D
