ok ive breed clowns before but ive never seen this before. my male is acting very weird he is being very protective over one spot on my rock scape. he will chase the other fish away. when i checked to see if there where eggs cuz i know the tend to be mean when they have eggs, but there is none. the female does not go near the spot. could this be him getting ready for the big bang? all the other clowns i had just did the norm. at the rock and a few weeks later there was eggs.

All possible that they are getting ready.

I would look at your female clown< is she really plump and is there a small tube at the back of her belly bulge on her underside?

My male clownfish, when he was in my 135g would do the same thing protecting the area. But he was kinda inept at it as my mandarin would just wait until the eggs were laid and then eat them all.
