Possible copepod question

Blueflu1

The Acan Reaper!
I know what copepods look like, but I have a ton of little bugs swimming around in circles under a ledge that look like mayfly's swarming. Are these baby pods or another type of critter. I am used to seeing bigger pods. I saw them before in my old tank a few years ago, so I know they are not abnormal.

If they are pods, then my six line and mandarin haven't paid any attention to them. Maybe they are too small for them.

Sounds normal....happen to have a pic there Rob?;)

sounds like pods....and that's a good thing...

copepods don't really swarm around. They may get on the glass and skitter a little but not really free swim all that much. Nor do the larger pods. In a bottle they will but not once given places to hide. However, I have alot of what you're probably seeing and they're mysid shrimp. A bit larger than copepods and they do swim around. I see them in my fuge as well as in larger 'caves' in my rockwork.

Hmmm... smaller than pods but visible to the eye? Curious. If you're up for it, I'm in Franklin and have a research grade microscope. We could get to the bottom of this rather quickly.
