Trying to gauge community interest in my prized Potter’s Angelfish. As many of you may know, these beautiful fish are nearly impossible to find since Hawaii was shut down a few years ago. Biota seems to have a wait list for captive bred ones, but nothing is quite like a wild caught specimen (my opinion).
This specimen was purchased by me in August of 2023 from a fellow reefer who left the hobby who had owned the fish for several years. Since adding it to my aquarium it has been a model citizen in my 90 gallon reef. I have never noticed it nipping coral of any kind and I’ve never noticed issues with other tank-mates. It eats literally anything I put in the tank for food. It is also of adult size and coloration.
Although I hate to let this fish go, I am not home enough to enjoy it and would like to pass it on to another reefer who can truly appreciate having this fish in their collection.
To best preserve this specimen, I ask that the buyer be an experienced hobbyist with an aquarium large enough to allow this fish to thrive. No other Centropyge angels or large predator tank-mates please.
I am asking $900, the same that Biota is asking for their captive-bred specimens that are a bit more than an inch in size. I am open to hearing offers, but I do not need to sell. I am willing to take trades to bring the total cash price down. The fish is located in Warwick, RI.
Thanks for looking, and happy reefing.
Will consider trading for:
Trident NP, other reef safe fish, MP40s, scolymias, other frags
